I'm building a '70 Coronet for the muscle car contest but I'm building it Outlaw Street style. I have wanted to build one of these since the first time I saw one but I had to wait until my skills caught up with my ideas and I think I can pull it off now. I'm excited about building this. These are just raw pics to give you an idea of where I am going with this. As you know some things are subject to change. This is the body with my color choice but I don't know what the color is. This is Plasti-Kote acrylic lacquer. I went by the cap color as the name of the color wasn't on the can. I got some One Coat Lacquer like Iceman uses for this build but I think I should practice with it before I use it on an important build and this build is important to me. I really like this paint, I think this is the best paint job I have done so far. This is not the engine I am going to use. This is a Ross Gibson engine I built some time ago but I don't like the way I did the fuel lines. The engine I am building will look like this one except I plan to use the bigger 1471 blower with either the 3 hole round scoop or the 4 hole square scoop. I like the three hole scoop but I think the square scoop fits the body style better. What do you think? I plan to use these Pegasus Lightning 23" wheels and tires.

....after reading a bit further into the posting Dennis, I have to say that motor will look good, BUT yes, I'd remove the blower hat and replace with something other then posted here as the one you got on the engine is more of a Drag racing type blower hat, not street......BUT that too is just my view so.....
BUT the rest of the engine looks AWESOME!

The engine in the picture isn't what I am going to use. It's just for reference. The engine I build will be bigger.

forehead-slap-smiley-emoticon I'm to damn busy lookin' at the engine to had caught your question on the color! I think it looks GREAT myself! The '70 Coronet looks good (to me) in almost ANY color that body style make baby sh!t brown look good, even runny LOL
BUT the metal flake in your paint Denny looks pretty damn good, being there is a lot of it in that paint..... and its "grit, to the metal flake is really "fine" so that allows more of it, in a small area, which makes it sparkle twice as much....Which is exactly what ya got here! LOOKS GREAT man!

Thanks Paul. I'm a little partial towards the 3 hole scoop but I think you and Frank are right and the square scoop fits the shape of the car better.

WELL that be a question, you using fuel injection on the blower OR carburetors?
Fuel injection, I'd use the more square one the one to the far right...... Carburetors, neither of them, as those 2 blower hats are both for fuel injection.....
Carburetor blower hats you would use something else completely..... I think I posted that in a PM between us, if you go to look!
Just my 2 cents worth......

Like your plan Dennis. Personally I like the square scoop myself, think it fits the body style of this car better also. Doesn't matter if it is accurate to carbs or injection unless you're looking for realistic accuracy. Models are for fantasy also. Really like that color and the heavy metallic/flake in it.

Thanks Skip. I think the square scoop is a shoe-in. I am going to use injection and I'm not looking for accuracy. Only look like it would work, as Dale likes to say. I agree with what you say about modeling. Some people go to great lengths for accuracy and I'm all for them, it's just not my style.

No, hopefully soon. I am still working on the engine. It is a model in itself. I am in so much pain in my hands and legs I can hardly move most days. I'm trying hard to finish this though. Endeavor to Persevere!!!!!!!!!

-Your very welcome Denny, pain, simply put, SUCKS, and to go day to day like that has got to be tiring after awhile of doing it.....You once said to me "John, I don't know how you do it" now............ (me knowing and being first hand with pain in recent times) Dennis, I don't know how you've DONE it the past couple months!
Shear will alone?? Someday, I know I may not have the same issues health-wise as you, BUT I know I'm gonna be in pain just the same....
